Recently, I came across an app named ippo pay store that provides various payment modes via a utility to the merchant. In this post, I’ve listed a few features/customer experiences that I liked. Here it goes,

  • It doesn’t target a specific merchant but all categories of merchants. The onboarding is very simple and doesn’t require any documentation to start with (add as you go). It gives a merchant comfort to at least download and explores the simplicity of the app.
  • It has ePOS feature that allows users to manage the product catalogs, bills, customers (mini CRM), and ledger (Khata). The merchant can collect the payments in 2 simple steps via payment modes like Cash, Card, UPI, Payment Link, and Tap to Pay (coming soon). Furthermore, the merchant can share the receipt via Message/Whatsapp/Instagram direct/Messanger.
  • These days, merchants buy Paytm Soundbox which costs Rs. 299 (one time fees) + Rs. 125 (monthly rental) to get audio confirmation of the transaction. This app has Audio notification features that confirm all types of payment modes.
  • It provides QR that supports all UPI apps (like PhonePe, GPay, PayTM) with the Multiple Branch feature. Generally, the owner has either multiple shops or he/his device is not available during the transaction. At that time, someone has to call him/her to get the payment confirmation. To create stickiness, they’ve provided sub-users and payment confirmation on multiple numbers.
  • It has a neo-banking feature that provides business banking, Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI), vendor payment management, payouts, salary disbursement, etc…
